...., creativity and not quality.

From an early age of 10 when I first took up photography, I always knew that I had a problem with my co-ordination, balance and sensory surroundings when ever I first used a camera, a year later (when I was aged 11) I was diagnosed with having Dyspraxia [link] a developmental and co-ordination disorder, and up to this day it still affects me as an adult.

As it's something that can not be fixed, I've learnt to live with it when I go about and do normal things like cooking, making coffee, and shopping (where I tend to bump into people a lot, lol) but with photography, it is something that relaxes me and gets me thinking more about expanding the problems I have with understanding things that are around me (my sensory surroundings). So when I first started taking up photography again from the age of 22, I built my photography around concept and trying to make a scene creative as I can (without doing any photo shopping) and not worry about the quality.

Why don't I worry about quality, well when ever I go low on the floor or high up, or I suppose at any height, my Dyspraxia can at times kick in and start to affect my co-ordination and balance, just those few seconds where you are holding the camera's shutter half down getting the focus right can go wrong when it kicks in. Nothing that I can do anything about, but it does frustrate me when it happens. So most of my photos I shoot I tend to base them on being as creative at possible to make up for my Dyspraxic camera shakes (as I would call them). And for me, I try to show in my photos that it's all about the concept of the composition (whether it be of something that is a taboo, or just of fashion) and not the quality.

Although I don't tell people that I'm a photographer with a co-ordination problem at shoots or on internet boards for my own personal reasons, not wanting to be judge as a shit photographer as I have been happy with the photos over the years, but when you start to read things else where, where some people don't understand the photographer's concept and rather judge it on quality is rather upsetting at times, not that I don't expect them to understand the concepts most of the time, but to see past the quality and look at either the subject in question (whether again it be of a taboo or of a fashion shot) and say, it's another way of looking at a photo.
